Terms of sale

Last updated: 3/11/2026. This English version is provided for convenience; in case of any difference, the French version prevails.

1. Scope

These terms apply to the services offered by Solenn Lecornec, sole trader trading under the name Soléné (hereafter “Soléné”), 7 Menez Lanveur, 29120 Combrit, France, SIRET 853 860 948 00019: Live Painting (portraits painted live during an event), commissioned oil portraits, and bespoke workshops and projects. They are attached to every quote. Placing an order means accepting these terms.

2. Quote and order

Each service is the subject of a personalised quote, valid for 30 days. The order becomes firm upon receipt of the signed quote and payment of the deposit.

3. Prices

Prices are shown in euros. VAT not applicable, Article 293 B of the French Tax Code. The quote includes travel costs, as well as accommodation costs when the event takes place outside Finistère and the Nice area. If a room can be made available at the venue, accommodation is removed from the quote.

4. Deposit and payment

  • Live Painting: a deposit of 30% of the price secures the date. The balance is paid no later than 15 days before the event.
  • Oil portrait: a deposit of 50% of the price is paid when ordering. The balance is paid once the work is finished, upon presentation of a photo of the completed canvas, before it is handed over or shipped.
  • Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, cheque (when meeting in person) or cash, within the limit set by French law. Payment details are sent with the invoice.

Sums paid when ordering are a deposit (“acompte”) and not “arrhes”. In case of cancellation, only the conditions set out in Article 8 apply.

5. Live Painting: how it works

  • Sol paints about 4 to 5 portraits an hour, depending on the chosen technique (watercolour, or red chalk and ink), in A5 format. The list of guests to paint first is prepared with the client.
  • The client provides a table, ideally matching the event decor, a chair, and a well-lit spot or a light source, as well as shelter if set up outdoors.
  • Each guest leaves with their original portrait, protected in an envelope.

6. Oil portrait: process and delivery

  • After a first conversation and payment of the deposit, Soléné sends the client a composition sketch to approve before painting. Once painting has begun, the approved composition can no longer be changed.
  • The painting takes 4 to 8 weeks from approval of the sketch, depending on size and complexity. For a fixed date, ordering about two months ahead is recommended.
  • The work comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. Framing can be offered on request.
  • Delivery costs depend on the size of the canvas and its framing; they are shown on the quote, for France and abroad. Hand delivery is possible depending on the location. Risk passes to the client when the work is handed over.
  • Each portrait is an artistic interpretation: likeness is sought, in the artist’s own style.

7. Right of withdrawal

In accordance with Article L.221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the client’s specifications or clearly personalised, such as commissioned oil portraits, nor to leisure services provided on a specific date, such as Live Painting at an event. For other services concluded at a distance, the client has 14 days from the conclusion of the contract to withdraw, by writing to hello@maisonsolene.art.

8. Cancellation and postponement

  • Live Painting, cancellation by the client: the deposit is kept by Soléné. No other amount is due, whatever the date of cancellation.
  • Live Painting, postponement: the date can be moved once at no cost, subject to Soléné’s availability.
  • Oil portrait, cancellation by the client: before the sketch is delivered, the deposit is refunded, minus any materials already bought for the canvas. After the sketch is approved, half the deposit, i.e. 25% of the price, is kept and the client keeps the sketch. Once painting has begun, the deposit is kept by Soléné. No other amount is due.
  • If Soléné is unable to attend: if Sol could not carry out the service, in particular for health reasons or force majeure, Soléné offers a trusted artist of the house or a full refund of the sums paid, at the client’s choice.

9. Intellectual property and images

Buying a work transfers ownership of the work itself, but not the copyright, which remains with the artist. Any commercial reproduction requires her written consent. Soléné may show the works created and images of the event on its website and social media, unless the client objects in writing. Photos taken or sent to create a portrait are used solely for that purpose.

10. Liability and insurance

Soléné holds professional liability insurance with Orus; a certificate can be provided on request. Materials used on site are protected to avoid any damage to the venue.

11. Personal data

Personal data is processed in accordance with the privacy policy available on the website.

12. Complaints and mediation

Any complaint must be sent in writing to hello@maisonsolene.art. If no agreement is reached, a consumer client may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator: Société Médiation Professionnelle (SMP), 24 rue Albert de Mun, 33000 Bordeaux, France, mediateur-consommation-smp.fr, saisine@mediateur-consommation-smp.fr. The mediation is conducted in French.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law.
